Jeweller Diamond Spot

In just a short period of time, jewelry boutique Diamond Spot has positioned itself amongst leading brands in the region thanks to its extensive collection of diamond jewellery. With unique passion and sensibility towards luxury, elegance and timeless value of jewellery, our designer and gemologist, alongside professional craftsmen, have lit up Czech's capital with international glow. The creation of jewellery, from start to finish, is a beautiful artful practice. It starts, at times, in the mind of our designer, at times, on the paper in front of her. In her small dream-filled empire, the studio, ideas come to life as she investigates the geometry of original shapes, square, circle, triangle, noting simplicity that harbours hidden beauty. She enjoys imperfect shapes, explores asymmetry in search for symmetry and plays with composition, colours of gold, rhodium, and delicate nuances of precious stones. She finds inspiration in the world around her and within her own world and brings it with love to paper. The first pencil sketches brought to paper take into account every detail, perfectly illustrating her every idea. For more complicated creations, she makes models to ensure jewellery is perfectly conceived and, above all, functional. When satisfied with the results, the next stage is a technical drawing, for which she uses the best design programs. This is where jewellery is shown from all different perspectives with correct dimensions and clearly defined colours of gold, stones or pearls which will be integrated into one piece. Perfect rendering and detailed specifications should meet further production needs. Thanks to our professionals and highly advanced use of 3D technology, she materializes her ideas. The magic continues with precision printing and converting digital, technical files into initial, tactile jewelry models in layers that can be as thin as 0.016mm to 0.33mm and in this manner she finalizes her first design steps.

Identity

leaving traces of irreplaceable authenticity. 14K gold (containing 58.5% pure gold in overall alloy), labeled as Au585/1000, is optimal for jewelry making, due to its strength that protects jewelry from wear and tear. Diamond Spot’s jewellery collection also carries exclusive pieces of 18K gold (containing 75.0% pure gold in overall alloy) with the recognized label - Au750/1000. To achieve a desired shape of jewelry, our craftsmen melt noble metals in special furnaces and alloy gold with other metals: copper, palladium, silver and zinc. With this method, the colour and hardness of gold are determined. The melted metal alloy is then poured into prepared molds that give a shape and, when metal cools off and hardens, it is ready for further processing. Balanced machine rollers are used for thinning thicker alloyed gold. A gap between rollers determines the thickness and enables creating desired shapes: rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, while the intended shape is corrected and finalized by expert blacksmiths. Before final polishing, various files are always at hand as well as sandpaper, used for finely sanding the jewelry surface. A thin layer of metal is used for adjoining separate semi-finished or finished jewelry parts.

Precision

Skillful and precise hands are essential for making holes in jewellery and setting diamonds and other precious and semi-precious stones in gold. If the idea of our designer is to decorate a jewellery surface, especially when making wedding rings, experts use a special engraving machine with a diamond needle. Employing the niello technique, one of the oldest methods in goldsmithing, engraved metal is inlayed in a way to be in contrast with the colour of the jewelry piece. Rhodium plating is the method we use to coat a fine layer of rhodium over jewellery to increase its shine and give it a light grey, yellow or black colour. In some cases, granulation is utilized for decorating the surface of jewellery pieces with small grains of gold. Final polishing and cleaning eliminates all impurities that occur during processing and ensures the reflective, high shine of our jewellery. For this purpose, we use various types of brushes and polishing paste.

The highest quality gemstones

Daniela’s design incorporates the most natural, best quality stones, which our gemologist, with great care, love and many years of expertise, chooses from the largest world markets. Thanks to over fifteen years of vocational experience and by the precise assessment tools, the highest quality diamonds, precious and semi-precious stones are selected. Natural polished diamonds with high clarity grades and highly valued colours in all possible shapes and sizes are carefully chosen at the prestigious diamond markets in Israel and Belgium. Prior to issuing a certificate, as a guarantee provided to each customer, weight carat is measured, the structure of diamonds and other stones examined, determining the refraction index for each precious stone. For this, our gemologist uses the most professional magnifying glasses, microscopes, refractors and scales. When selecting colored stones, rubies, sapphires and emeralds, great attention is paid to their clarity, transparency, brilliance and rarity. Our gemologist avoids emeralds with impurities that affect their transparency and colours as well as rubies with the trace mineral content not visible to the naked eye. Precious colored stones are chosen and brought directly from Burma, Colombia, Zambia, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Hungary.

Diamond Spot jewellery

Diamond Spot jewellery is decorated exclusively by untreated stones, without any artificially filled inclusions, cracks and laser improved appearances, which significantly decrease their value on the market. Other than precious stones, Diamond Spot also specializes in Tahitian and freshwater, cultured pearls, imported directly from French Polynesia and Chinese province of Suzhou. Our selection consists of rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets made from only the highest grade (A-AAA) freshwater, cultured pearls and high quality Tahitian pearls (grade A for rings and grade A/B for necklaces). For women, who are lovers of noble, non-traditional shaped pearls, known as “baroque”, Diamond Spot offers beautiful pieces, unique in their own way. The selection of Tahitian pearls in an array of beautiful colors, from metal grey, deep purple, blue, green, graphite to silver with dark undertones and black, assure owners of their unsurpassed elegance and value. They possess surface imperfections that enhance their beauty and glamour, reflecting the beauty of nature. International world certifications issued by some of the major gemological labs - GIA, HRD, IGI, TGL, GRS and YUDC, confirm and guarantee the quality of precious and semi-precious stones that Diamond Spot uses for its unique jewellery collection. Creating a piece of jewellery is a long process that requires patience and professionalism, involving often meticulous work of more than one craftsman under the supervision of our designer and gemologist.
